Lori Boess has been teaching drum making workshops for over 17 years. She studied with Lakota Elder Bernice Falling Leaves in a medicine teaching lodge. Medicine Dog Art & Drum grew out of a calling to be the medicine. Lori uses prayer and intention to create sacred artistic medicine tools.
The drum is the one instrument that crosses all cultures. If you are feeling drawn to reconnect with an ancient rhythm, this class is for you. Drums have been used over the centuries for remembering our connection to the Earth, dancing in celebration, and calling forth life from the seedlings. What are you called to give birth to?
While we are in community for 4-6 hours we will build a 15" elk hide frame drum with sticks. The cost of the workshop is $195 and materials are included. A 50% deposit is required at time of registration with the balance due prior to class attendance.
Ceremonial Feather Fan Workshop with Lori Boess
|
Join Lori in making your own Ceremonial Feather Fan in a 4-6 hour workshop. We will use Peacock, Turkey, or Pheasant feathers to create a unique, one of a kind piece of art. Fans are typically used for smudging, dancing, prayer, aura work, and ceremony. The feathers are mounted in a wood handle, covered with deer leather, and accented with fox fur.
Included in the workshop are some of the teachings around the different uses of the feather fans. The cost for the workshop is $125 and includes all materials and teachings.
